Question 4 – Personal Perspective – Concept
How effectively was the concept of “transportation” explored? Do you think that this student successfully communicated transportation as the main idea of the composition; if not what do you think the main concept is?
The concept of “transportation” is effectively used. There are alot of layers that are associated with transportation, by the planes to the tires and steering wheels. The signs and the highway almost give the impression that the background is a map giving more to the use of transportation in the composition.
How is line used in the composition? Contour, types of line, emotion or texture effectively used (describe where and how within the composition).
How were elements of line used to optimum effect in composition? If line was not effective give reasons.

Line is used throughout this composition. Contour is well-represented in an outline of various aircraft located at the 3 points of an implied triangle within the image. A light background of a bird’s-eye-view of highway on and off ramps helps to guide the eye around the image. Lines outline street signs and a cross-shaped textured area that appears to represent an intersection. Overall I feel that line was used very effectively.
